Though he would disagree, Henry needed an activity. He would be content to play with legos every night but needed to branch out. He is too small to go to basketball where Ralph goes even though Ralph did at Henry's age; the rims used to be lower for the younger kids but are not anymore; they used to have a program for K-grade 2 but do not anymore. Henry didn't have any interest in playing on a y team.
Henry went to wrestling practice for about 6-7 weeks before entering a tournament - some of those weeks he could only make it to one practice. A tournament is a great way to put skills learned in practice to use. Many of the parents at the tournaments told us the 1st year is rough. Henry handled it well. We are curious to see if he continues in wrestling but for now are proud of what he did this season. It takes guts to give it a try.
