Mike & Henry made the trek to Memorial Stadium this afternoon for the annual red/white spring game. It was Henry's 1st trip and a good starter game. Between the crowd and the length of game, I think an actual game would still be a bit overwhelming too him. It was nice to introduce him to the atmosphere without being committed to stay the whole time.
Unfortunately Henry is a bit dark in a shady spot but it was a beautiful day!
(Ralph was having a great time at a birthday party and missed the game.)

Giddy Up!
Ralph was invited to a western themed birthday party. Fingerprints has a Wild Wild West day in a few weeks. The boys have absolutely no western wear. What to do?
I made superhero capes . . .I can make a cowboy vest, right?
Sure enough, I guess I can! It's amazing what you can find on the internet.
Luckily felt is an easy fabric to work with, hot glue is a quick way to put pieces together, and the black stitching didn't have to be perfect!
I wonder what the next project will be!

Ralph: Getting Cleared for Kindergarten (5-yr checkup)!
Yesterday, Ralph had his 5-year check up which turned into his Kindergarten physical all rolled into one.
As we were talking about going to the doctor's for a check up I reminded Ralph how we've gone there since he was 4 days old. I was thinking back to all the regular check-ups and all the other sick child appointments we went to. Just a little trip down memory lane of how far we have come.
We hardly even sat down to wait our turn in the waiting room and we got called back. I felt a little like we were herded like cattle, not that they were that busy and there were a lot of Kindergartners-to-be, just that we were guided to one room where the door closed and there were "games", then taken out of that room to go to another room for more "games" and then finally to the room the doctor would come.
The first room was the hearing screening. Ralph intently listened to the rules of the "game" and proceeded to raise whichever hand he heard the sound coming from. He was fully concentrating, eyes on the floor, and would raise his hand slightly when he thought he heard something and it would shoot up high when he was sure.
We then stopped at the weigh/height station. Ralph now weighs 39.4 pounds (50%) and is 43" high (40%). His weight is catching up to his height a little more than in the past. His BMI is 15.01 (25-50%).
We were then herded into the vision screening room. Ralph had to put his head in the machine so I couldn't see what he was looking at but know there were various objects he had to identify.
We finally made to the room to wait for the doctor, and she arrived a few minutes later. We talked about a few things and everything checked out fine. She asked Ralph a few questions and challenged him to say his Mom's name, Dad's Name, their last name (which kind of tricked him since she didn't ask his last name), his address, and phone number. He got stumped on his address, he finally volunteered his street . . . then told me his address when we got to the car. We've talked about our phone number before and have practiced but it's not automatic yet.

Class of 2026, here comes Ralph!
Easter Events!
The week leading up to Easter was busy of "Easter Events". On the Saturday before Palm Sunday, Grandma & Grandpa took them to an Easter Egg hunt at St. Marks church. The cold weather forced the hunt to move indoors but the boys still had fun "finding" eggs on the gym floor, playing in the bounce, and participating in other activities.
(photos still coming)
At church that evening the boys received a some Easter gift from an older couple we usually sit behind. It was a very sweet gesture. They boys go out of their way to shake hands with them during the Sign of the Peace. Ralph has also waved at them a few times while walking back from giving Father money.
On Palm Sunday Ralph & I went to his friend's Leighton's house to dye Easter eggs. Unfortunately Henry got sick before we went and didn't get to join in the fun. He was NOT happy. Ralph discovered the invisible crayon that only appears after its dipped in the color.
On Good Friday the boys had a bunny hop/parade at "school" and then an Easter Egg hunt. (Bunny gear from school/clothes wore to church on Saturday).
We went to Easter vigil service with Grandma & Grandpa. The Easter Bunny hid eggs for the boys to find Sunday morning inside our house - and outside at Grandma & Grandpa's. The boys also got some Easter baskets filled with some new toys and other treats.
