There is no denying Henry is a fan of the out-of-doors. Somedays just after we finish putting on his shoes he goes for his jacket and if you put his jacket on he makes a beeline for a door. He'll also put up a protest if he comes in sooner than he wants. He just loves being outside and we are fortunate to have the playground so close to our townhouse.
Henry's biggest accomplishment in the last couple of weeks, though not a goal of his, is to be completely weaned of all bottles. He had been taking his nightime bottle slowly, not even finishing it towards the end. It was not that hard to wean him - the first night he went down without a fight and slept all night! It is one more sign that my baby is not a baby anymore.
Henry's teeth count remains the same. I have a feeling there will be more by next month. His lack of teeth does not impede his eating ability.
I started to notice last weekend Henry's speech is flourishing . . . if only I was fluent in Henry-ese. He really does have a lot to say and 'talks' nonstop, unfortunately its nothing more than babbling though he thinks he is saying something as he points excitedly and jabbers. We think we've heard him say his version of "grandpa" and "all done" - which is more clear at home when he grabs the highchair tray and tries to remove it. He clearly says da-da, bye-bye, na-na (not sure what it means but he says it), momma (though not directed at me - just making the sound). Uh-oh is by far his favorite word, along with the O-shaped mouth that comes along at the end of uh-oh, sometimes accompanied by a finger point.
When I pick up the boys from daycare at the end of the day, Henry used to cry when he'd see me outside and then I'd disappear when I entered the building. I think we've reached the point he does not cry when I disappear. It's so nice to wave to him and see him excited to see me and know he is not going to be in tears when I disappear from his sight.
Henry has a very generous side. Lately, while snacking at church or before bedtime he'll try to put the snack in my mouth. I think I can honestly say I had not tried puffs until a few weeks ago. Luckily we are out of puffs now.
We tried teaching Henry where his nose and ears where the other day. He played along for a few rounds but does not immediately play along when asked. He is just a busy guy who does not have time to be bothered by silly games.
