On July 3rd, the boys and I stopped by a firework stand and bought some fireworks . .this might be the last time I can get away with the little stuff. We spent the evening at grandma and grandpa's hanging out with Uncle Nick. Ralph took a more active role in lighting some fireworks. Henry is starting to learn the ropes.
They tried sparklers for the first time and didn't like them much. Is it really a good idea to be holding something that is emitting sparks anyhow?
Henry did better with the loud noises . . .He did stayed outside the whole evening and did not need muffs this year but still covered his ears a few times.
On the 4th, we went to the parade in Waverly. Ralph remembered some floats had water guns and would shoot parade watchers and, at the last second when leaving the house he had to fill a water gun and bring it with him. Henry had fun waving to the parade entries.
Back to grandma and grandpa's, we had lunch . . .then a bit later the traditional water balloon toss was held. They boys had great fun catching and throwing the balloons . . .
We left mid-afternoon trying to fit one more thing into the day . . . Mike and the boys headed out to Beaver Crossing for a night of smore making and camping since Ralph did not have a baseball game on Sunday.
