Henry: Celebrating 5 1/2 years!

The biggest change in Henry's life in the last 6 months occurred this past Sunday when he changed the daily breathing treatment using the nebulizer to using an inhaler with an aerochamber.  It has been a week of fine-tuning the breathing in, holding breath, and exhaling.  Hopefully he'll master it in a few weeks.  The morning routine has shortened a bit as the inhaler is a time saver in comparison to the nebulizer.  He does miss his morning tv time though.

Speaking of health, Henry has been really healthy the past six months with the exception of one week in February the included a fever that came and went a few times . .and a cough mid-way through the week which caused me to worry a bit BUT it did NOT settle in his lungs!!  I keep my fingers cross any time he gets the littlest ailment and in retrospect he was very lucky last winter in that regard.

He is doing Tball through Waverly Parks and Rec (photos coming sometime).    He is on the same team as a Fingerprints friend.  He seems to like it.

We are all awaiting kindergarten.  Henry is working on how to spell his last name (can spell it out loud; does not want to tackle writing it), his house number, street name, mommy's name/last name (the question kind of tricked him at his kindergarten check up).  He has found a way to sneak in some screen time watching various "educational" videos on youtube that focus on math and sight words.

He loves to look at books - an old favorite, Mouse Paint, has resurfaced in the last few weeks.  Today we had to set up the capillary action experiment to see red and yellow make orange.  I've been informed we will do another experiment tomorrow with different colors.

Legos and pirate "stuff" get the most attention these days.  He is still quite animated in his play. Thomas the Train, superheros, and the Ninja Turtles still get some attention but not as much as they used to.

Last week he wondered when the tent would be back at Fingerprints.  After a round of 20 questions, I finally figured out he was curious when the tent selling fireworks would be available.  That kid has a super memory . . when he wants to.

With the exception of sizes, this is mostly a repeat from six months ago but some things never change . . .He still is very opinionated about the types of shirts he will wear.  If I get lucky he'll wear a screen printed shirt but mostly solids or stripes will get the best reception.  Pants/shorts do not seem to be a big deal.  He is wearing XS (4) and 5T shirts; pants/shorts are mostly 4 and 5T.  He is currently wearing 10T in shoes.  Henry CAN tie his shoes but more times than not he would like someone else to do it for him.

His eating habits have not changed much over the past six months nor as his bedtime routine.
